Voigt-Abernathy is a distributor of rotating and process equipment for the industrial markets in AL, FL, GA, MS and TN. Voigt-Abernathy offers engineering design and aftermarket services that optimize equipment selection, giving our customers a competitive advantage when it comes to the cost of equipment ownership. With our customers’ success in mind, Voigt-Abernathy’s technical specialists work closely with each customer to ensure that the best possible solution is provided for each customers’ specific need.   1. 1946

    Voigt-England Company was founded by D.B. Gooch & Associates. The company grew through the 40’s & 50’s as a manufacturer’s representative of quality process equipment’s and service.

  2. 1960’s

    William C. Voigt II and H.C. England Jr. joined DB Gooch and Associates as sales engineers.  In 1963, Gooch passed away, and Voigt and England bought the business from his widow. The company shortly changed the name to Voigt-England.

  3. 1970’s — 1980’s

    The 70’s and 80’s were prosperous for Voigt-England due to organic sales growth, product diversification, as well as the addition of engineered systems and shop repair capabilities.

  4. 1993

    In 1993, the ownership of the Company entered its second generation and had continued success, led by William C. Voigt III. Under Bill’s leadership, Voigt-Abernathy invested heavily into their organization and advanced their technological capabilities that enabled them to maintain their position as a market leader.

  5. 2003

    In response to the increased growth in the service and systems sector of their business, the company established new offices in Trussville, AL. With approximately 15,000 square feet of combined shop and office space, Voigt-England’s new facility established the infrastructure required to repair large pumps, to perform hydraulic pump testing, and to design/manufacture large engineered systems.

  6. 2004

    Longtime employee, Jonathan Abernathy became a full partner in Voigt-England and soon thereafter changed the company name to Voigt-Abernathy. Jonathan’s strengths in Operations, Inside Sales and Customer Relations combined with Bill Voigt’s strength in Field Sales, Applications and Engineering, formed an accomplished ownership team.

  7. 2006

    Moving forward with the company’s vision for growth and a local presence, Voigt-Abernathy successfully opened their first 10,000 square foot service center in Cumming, Georgia.

  8. 2011

    As Voigt-Abernathy continued to expand, a second 10,000 square foot Service Center in Decatur, AL was opened to meet the growing demand of their client’s needs at a local level.

  9. 2012

    Voigt-Abernathy was eager to announce their new 3,000 square foot addition to their Corporate Headquarters in Trussville, AL. The goal of the expansion of the facility was to foster and accommodate growth in the service, distribution, and integration segments of their business, as well as solidify their position as the leading supplier of equipment in the Southeast.

  10. 2013

    Expansion continued with the opening of a 13,000 square foot Gulf Coast Service Center in Axis, AL in response to Voigt-Abernathy’s strategic growth plan. The addition of the Service Center also enhanced the level of service in current markets and was focused on growing new markets throughout the Gulf Coast area.

  11. 2014

    Voigt-Abernathy relocated their Birmingham based Headquarters to a new 35,000 square foot facility in direct response to their growing market share in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee and Florida markets.

  12. 2016 & beyond

    Voigt-Abernathy has rightfully positioned themselves for continued success in 2016 and beyond. Plans include a major expansion in the Decatur Service Center and to have a larger footprint in the southeast region.

Voigt Abernathy timeline
